What is the SA?

The Student Association is an advocacy organisation for the students of the University, whose members are all students of the University. The President and the representatives of the Student Association are elected by the students, and all students are electors or can be elected.

The Student Association draws up its own rules of organisation and operation. The materials and material conditions for the operation of the SA and for the performance of the tasks set out in the regulations are provided by the university management, the lawful use of which is monitored by the Rector.

The SA manages its own funds, donations and other resources in accordance with the provisions of the law and in the manner laid down in its organisational and operational regulations. The Student Association decides on all matters which are within its competence by law, university regulations, resolutions and its own organisational and operational rules, and makes proposals and gives its opinion on all matters which concern students.

Rights of the Student Association:

  • To send representatives, elected following the election procedures laid down in the rules of the Student Council, to the Senate, the Faculty Council and other governing bodies, as well as to participate in the work of standing committees.
  • To propose the introduction of optional subjects
  • To participate in the organisation of scientific and professional student circles, and in the publication of papers
  • To present student evaluation of teaching work

  • To participate in the management of students' academic, scholarship and support affairs
  • To participate in the management of student residences
  • To set up and manage cultural and social departments, as far as possible.

The SA may also be called upon to perform other tasks. The SA shall carry out its tasks in cooperation with other bodies of the University (faculty) in the manner laid down in its Organisational and Operational Regulations.
